Information reaching africabillbiard.com indicates that Ghanaian comic boxer and former World Boxing Organization (WBO) African champion Bukom Banku has not settled a Ghc 17,000 debt he owes popular promotion firm ‘Box Office Promotions‘.
This information was disclosed on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM by the CEO of Box Office Promotions Mr. Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye during a session of the Total Sports Review show.
The CEO complained to the Isaac Worlanyo Wallace that despite Braimah Kamoko‘s promise to pay the money, he has not fulfilled his promise till now. As a result of this, the boxer’s license was annulled.
Braimah Kamoko apparently lose to Bastie Samir on 21st October, 2017 in a non-title match where he was defeated in the 7th round.
A rematch was scheduled to hold on 30th June, 2018 but since Bukom Banku breached his contract, he was asked to refund the money.
The CEO of Box Office Promotions has hence been given an official permission to seek a court relief if the boxer fails to pay his debt.
Mr. Alex Ntiamoah-Boakye explained that the reason why Bastie can no longer fight Banku is because Bastie has bagged a world title shot which he cannot sacrifice for that of Bukom Banku.
However, he added that they have hopes that Banku will fight Apari on 26th December, 2021.
